This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CMAs (Country Music Awards). Although I don’t really follow many country music stars these days, I did grow up listening to it with my parents, and I have fond memories and connections to it through my Dad’s parents, Memere and Pepere. This mashup combines country superstars from yesteryear and today to create an impressive lineup of stars for a very beautiful song. I recommend you check it out, and watch the behind the scenes video after, as well. Enjoy!
Today is the 68th birthday of the first lady of country music; Miss Dolly Parton! Dolly has had quite and career and I’ve followed it for as long as I can remember. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to visit the motherland; Dollywood (don’t laugh).
… and who can forget Polly Darton singing on Sesame Street? Even as a kid I loved this!
This is one of the greatest Christmas albums ever produced. I have so many INCREDIBLE holiday memories surrounding the songs on this album. When I was a kid we used to play this RECORD in the basement of my parent’s house because it was one of the only Christmas albums they had. I used to listen to this over and over. I know every song by heart. It was probably the catalyst for my love of all things Dolly Parton. This album always makes my heart so light and my face produce a beaming smile.
