January 19 is one of my favourite days of the year, because it’s the birthday of Miss Dolly Parton! Dolly was born in Tennessee on January 19, 1946. Not only is she the Queen of country music and beyond, but she is also a very enterprising woman, spanning a variety of industries and charitable causes.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CMAs (Country Music Awards). Although I don’t really follow many country music stars these days, I did grow up listening to it with my parents, and I have fond memories and connections to it through my Dad’s parents, Memere and Pepere. This mashup combines country superstars from yesteryear and today to create an impressive lineup of stars for a very beautiful song. I recommend you check it out, and watch the behind the scenes video after, as well. Enjoy!
This is one of the greatest Christmas albums ever produced. I have so many INCREDIBLE holiday memories surrounding the songs on this album. When I was a kid we used to play this RECORD in the basement of my parent’s house because it was one of the only Christmas albums they had. I used to listen to this over and over. I know every song by heart. It was probably the catalyst for my love of all things Dolly Parton. This album always makes my heart so light and my face produce a beaming smile.
