This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CMAs (Country Music Awards). Although I don’t really follow many country music stars these days, I did grow up listening to it with my parents, and I have fond memories and connections to it through my Dad’s parents, Memere and Pepere. This mashup combines country superstars from yesteryear and today to create an impressive lineup of stars for a very beautiful song. I recommend you check it out, and watch the behind the scenes video after, as well. Enjoy!
As 2015 slowly draws to a close, DJ Earworm is back with another installment in his United State of Pop series – this year’s mashup is titled “50 Shades of Pop”.

It’s taken years but I have to admit that in recent months I am becoming a fan of One Direction.
Maybe “fan” is a strong word, what I mean to say is that I’ve discovered that I like a few of their songs. I feel the need to state (and stress) that I am NOT a “Directioner” … they scare me.
Internet fan-fiction is always crazy and entertaining in it’s WTF-ness (no matter what it’s based on) but I’ve come across some animated 1D fan-fiction on YouTube which is clever and funny! If you have even the slightest interest or knowledge about the band, they’re hilarious to watch.

Welcome to December. With just 24 days until Christmas, I wanted to share this incredible mash-up of iconic Christmas movies and television specials set to one of Darlene Love‘s classic Christmas songs.
I love absolutely everything about this video. Watching this is always a nice pick-me-up if I ever need one, and definitely helps to put me in the festive spirit.
I have seen every single movie or television special featured in this video; each one of them bringing back so many fond holiday memories. Watching this great mash-up overwhelms me with Christmas spirit, it is so well done and must be shared!
In addition to Thriller, Michael Jackson also made another full length Halloween special / music video called Ghosts. In this feature, Michael plays many characters with the help of special effects and impressive makeup and body suits. Some call it a followup to to Thriller, at least in the same vein. Either way I find it very enjoyable and have been watching it at this time of year since it debuted in 1997.
Halloween is right around the corner. It’s difficult to imagine Halloween in popular culture and not think of Thriller by Michael Jackson. Back in the days when music videos actually aired on music channels like MuchMusic and MTV, this video would play in regular rotation around this time year. It always creeped me out when I was a kid – but I still always looked forward to it.
This is one of the greatest Christmas albums ever produced. I have so many INCREDIBLE holiday memories surrounding the songs on this album. When I was a kid we used to play this RECORD in the basement of my parent’s house because it was one of the only Christmas albums they had. I used to listen to this over and over. I know every song by heart. It was probably the catalyst for my love of all things Dolly Parton. This album always makes my heart so light and my face produce a beaming smile.
